Krantz, Kildall III pace Skyhawks in Pueblo

DURANGO, Colo. – Nicholas Krantz and Ronald Kildall III led the charge for the Fort Lewis men's golf team through the first two rounds of the Southern Colorado Masters over at the Pueblo Country Club on Monday afternoon.
 
Krantz, a senior from Oak Harbor, Wash., led all Skyhawks and resides in a three-way tie for 11th on the individual scoreboard. Krantz ended the day three strokes above par after carding single-round scores of 68 (-3) and 77 (+6), however, Krantz is competing as an unattached individual and therefore cannot contribute to the team's score.
 
Kildall III, on the other hand, paved the way for team scoring and ended the evening in a four-way tie for 14th with a 146 (+4) total on the back of a 71 (E) and 75 (+4) through his first two trips around the course.
 
As a unit, Fort Lewis finished 26 strokes above par with a 594 total as a team and stands four strokes behind Colorado School of Mines (590, +22) and four strokes ahead of Westminster (598, +30).
 
No. 20-ranked CSU Pueblo, playing from the comforts of its home course, leads the field with a 571 (+3) team total and a two-stroke edge over No. 6-ranked Colorado Christian who trails The Pack with a 573 (+5) total.

On the individual scoreboard, Colorado's Ty Holbrook will enter the final round in first place with a 139 (-3) trailed closely by CSUP's Archie Wyatt (140, -2), alongside Westminster's Bryson Hirabayashi (141, -1) and CCU's Xavier Bighaus (141, -1) who all recorded the only additional below-par finishes.

The two-day, three-round tournament will conclude tomorrow afternoon with one final round across the 6,522 yards of the Pueblo Country Club.
