Senior Day and Two For Two
Fort Lewis will honor its four graduating seniors between games one and two on Sunday afternoon. The Skyhawks graduating class includes outfielders Catheryn Rodman, Cara Daugherty, and Hannah Rutherford alongside second baseman Kayla Stone. In addition to senior celebrations, Skyhawks athletics is running a ballpark special for fans featuring a hot dog and a drink for just $2.00.

Stone Cold
Stone, a product of Salinas, Calif., was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Week 11 Player of the Week last Tuesday, marking the second consecutive week a Skyhawk has garnered a weekly award. Stone was hitting beach balls last weekend at Black Hills State (12-27, 11-23 RMAC) as she went a combined 11-14 (.785) in the series while posting five runs, nine runs batted in, three doubles, one triple, and two home runs including go-ahead RBI singles in two of the four games whilst not recording a strikeout.

Five In a Row
The Skyhawks extended its season-best winning streak to five straight games last weekend after handling the Yellow Jackets up in Spearfish, S.D., to secure the first series sweep of the season. Both Amiee Shanks (7-14) and Hailie Mann (7-13) recorded a pair of wins including the first shutout of the season from Shanks in game one and the third for FLC this season. Fort Lewis outscored Black Hills State 24-8 in the series on the back of 44 hits to BHSU's 30.

Scouting The Cowgirls
New Mexico Highlands is coming off of a 2-2 series split on the road at Chadron State (7-35, 7-25 RMAC) that saw three of the four games decided by a single run with NMHU falling 3-0 in the series finale. The Cowgirls will look to rebound against the Skyhawks, however, as the invaders from Las Vegas, N.M., own an 87-67 all-time advantage over Fort Lewis and just trail the Skyhawks 35-32 up in Durango.

Senior first basemen Karla Banegas leads the Cowgirls roster that hits .256 as a unit with a team-high .398 average to pair with 37 hits including eight doubles, one triple, three home runs, 22 RBIs, and only four strikeouts. Jazmyn Griego supplies another .307 average with team-highs in doubles (10) and stolen bases (5). In the circle, junior Maya Milano boasts a 4.55 earned run average and a 7-6 record with nine complete games, two shutouts, and 83.0 innings pitched.

Final Series On Deck
Fort Lewis' final regular season series is set for next Friday and Saturday, Apr. 26-27, at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. The Skyhawks and Mountain Lions will play a pair of doubleheaders at Mountain Lion field starting at noon and 11:00 a.m., respectively.
