One-Two Punch
Kayla Stone continues to dominate the plate regardless of who might toe the rubber across from her as the senior has racked up 41 hits in 100 at-bats for a .410 batting average. In addition, Stone has provided 29 runs batted in on a .690 slugging clip thanks to leading the team with four home runs, 12 doubles, and a pair of triples. Alex Tenorio is right on Stone's heels, however, with a .385 average of her own and leads the team with 42 total hits and 28 runs scored. Not to mention the 10 doubles, three triples, and one home run Tenorio has added as well.

Scouting the Roadrunners
With four weeks left in the conference race, MSU Denver is currently atop the league's standings and in the hunt for its first RMAC Regular Season Championship since 2015. Currently riding an eight-game win streak, the Roadrunners are coming off of back-to-back sweeps over UCCS (12-25, 9-19 RMAC) and Adams State (4-33, 2-26 RMAC). In addition, MSUD has the advantage over FLC 51-15 in the all-time series and 26-8 here in Durango.

Natalie Romero (7-3) leads the roster with 71.0 innings pitched and 12 starts on the season with a 3.35 earned run average, however, Jenna Medhus (11-0) is the most dangerous arm in the circle for MSU Denver with an unbeaten record through 18 appearances and a team-leading 2.79 ERA.

At the plate, senior outfielder Shelby Robb is having one of the best seasons in the RMAC. Robb leads the league in batting average (.500), first in hits (66), second in doubles (20), third in stolen bases (18-19), fourth in on-base percentage (.527), fourth in runs scored (47), and four in RBIs (44). In addition, her numbers are good for the fourth-most doubles, sixth-most hits, 11th-best average, 26th-most RBIs, and 42nd-best on-base percentage across NCAA DII.

Longest Road Trip Ahead
Next weekend Fort Lewis is headed on its longest trip of the season to the Black Hills of Spearfish, S.D., for another conference series at Black Hills State (12-19, 11-15 RMAC). The Skyhawks and Yellow Jackets will face off on Saturday and Sunday, Apr. 13-14.
