Kildall III in contention for individual title at RJGA Palm Valley Classic

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Junior Ronald Kildall III is locked in a three-way tie for first place through the first two rounds while the Fort Lewis men's squad lands in a tie for fourth as a unit at the Rudioso Junior Golf Association's Palm Valley Classic over the Palm Valley Golf Club.
 
Kildall III, a native of Everett, Wash., posted the two single-lowest-scores of his collegiate career through the first two rounds at 66 (-6) and 67 (-5) to stand tied with No. 15-ranked Midwestern State's Seth Bearden and Western New Mexico's Adam Niles at an 11-under 133. In addition, the two rounds mark the fourth and fifth times Kildall III has finished under 70.
 
While St. Mary's found themselves in front for the team title after round one with a 277 (-11) team score, the Rattlers ultimately fell to third after round two after No. 9-ranked Colorado Christian, who carded a combined score of 279 (-9) in round one, improved to 270 (-18) in round two to lead second-place WNMU by seven strokes.  
 
Henry Poston was the only other Skyhawk to score below par through the first round with a 67 (-5), the second-lowest single-round score of his collegiate career, before registering an even par of 72 in the second round.
 
In round two, Poston, Jordan Jennings, and Jackson Rottschafer all posted even pars behind Kildall III and combined for 19 birdies and only eight bogeys.
 
One Round Remains
Tomorrow, Tuesday, Apr. 9, Fort Lewis and Kildall III will embark on the final round of the tournament. The shotgun start is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Mountain Standard Time.
