Kildall III wraps up junior campaign at NCAA West South Central Super Regional

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Ronald Kildall III closed out his junior season Saturday afternoon as he finished in a tie for 103rd at the NCAA West South Central Super Regional down at the New Mexico State Golf Course in Las Cruces, N.M.
 
After a challenging second round, Kildall III recovered and cut down five strokes in his final trip through the 7,242-yard course. Despite opening the front nine with three bogeys and a double bogey on hole five to boast a five-over 40 at the turn, Kildall III found greater success on the back nine with pars on seven of the final nine holes. All told, Kildall III finished 32 strokes over par with a 245 total (80, 85, 80) and tied with Stanislaus State's Drew Pritchard for 103rd.
 
The Mustangs from Western New Mexico, the tournament host, recovered from its fall to third place yesterday and cut down five strokes to finish the final round with an even-par of 284 and win the NCAA West South Central Regional by two strokes with a two-under 850 total (277, 289, 284). No. 5-ranked Colorado Christian was the only RMAC program to make the five-team cut and advance to the National Finals on May 21-25 at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden, Fla., with an even team score of 852 (292, 272, 288).  
 
As for the individual title, it was CCU's Dylan Arthur, a Frisco, Texas senior who jumped three spots thanks to a four-under third-round score of 67 to win the super regional on a nine-under 204 total (72, 65, 67).
 
Skyhawks men's and women's golf will return to action and classes in August of 2024.
