Spreading the Lineup
Fort Lewis stands at 2-0-1 on the year with wins over Lubbock Christian (1-1-1) 5-0, and St. Mary's (1-1-1) 1-0, as well as a 1-1 draw with Eastern New Mexico (1-1-1). The Skyhawks are averaging 2.33 goals per game on the back of six individual goal-scorers. David Citron leads the lineup with a pair of goals while Tomas Duenes, Gabriel Legendre, Vincent Edgell, Anton Hjalmarsson, and Casey Stracher have each added one goal on the year. In addition, Citron and Duenes have both supplied two assists each, and Legendre a single assist as well.

Shutout Season
Lucas Martin has been a force for the Skyhawks in goal thus far. The six-foot-three goalkeeper has played all 270 minutes and surrendered only one goal while making nine saves against 31 shots faced. With Martin at the helm of the back line, Fort Lewis has registered two shutouts thus far: one shy of last season's mark of three for the year.

Confidence is Key
West Texas A&M kicked off the year with a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference road trip up to Denver, Colo., to compete against Regis (0-0-3) and MSU Denver (1-2). Despite scoring a pair of goals against the Rangers, the Buffs couldn't hold on defensively resulting in a 2-2 draw with Regis prior to being blanked by the Roadrunners, 2-0. The Buffs will surely be confident on Sunday, however, as WTAMU celebrates its 2024 home opener following a 3-1 road victory over rival Eastern New Mexico, 3-1.

Better at Home
The comfort of one's home pitch can truly provide an edge, and West Texas A&M has historically leaned on such against the Skyhawks. Not only do the Buffaloes lead the all-time series 4-2 down in Canyon, but last season, WTAMU posted a 4-2-3 record at home within its 7-6-5 overall record. The Buffs outscored opponents 12-0 in its four wins at home and 18-8 across all nine home matches.

Buffs on the Attack
Leading the Buffaloes offense this fall is Matteo Landis. The junior forward led WTAMU with eight goals and six assists last season and has already supplied two goals for four total points this year. Gabriel Nevarez has also totaled four points with one goal and two assists to his name. Zakaria Daaou and Alan Martinez have each scored a goal with Sol Bercu adding an assist as well.

Regional Pod
Fort Lewis is scheduled to host Colorado Mesa (1-0-1), Simon Fraser (1-1-1), and Montana State Billings (1-1-1) for a pair of home and neutral site matches next Thursday and Saturday, Sep. 19 and 21. The Skyhawks will play against the Red Leafs and Yellow Jackets in the 7:00 p.m. time slot each night while the Mavericks will play the opposite opponent at 4:30 p.m. up on Dirks Field.
