DURANGO, Colo. – Soccer fans couldn't ask for much better up on the rim this week as the No. 18 nationally ranked Fort Lewis men's soccer team (4-2-4, 0-1-2 RMAC) gears up to host No. 22 University of Colorado Colorado Springs (6-3-3, 4-0-0 RMAC) and No. 23 Colorado State University Pueblo (4-1-7, 0-1-3 RMAC) for its annual White Out, Homecoming, and Hall of Fame Weekend on Dirks Field.
 
White Out, Homecoming, Hall of Fame
It's White Out and Homecoming Week up on campus, presented by Durango Motor Company and Bank of the San Juans. Homecoming shirts and rally towels will be available for the first fans in attendance at both matches. On Thursday afternoon, Fort Lewis will host its annual Athletics Hall of Fame event at 5 p.m., with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. Fans interested in attending the event before the match can purchase tickets for $26 each through Hometown Ticketing.  
 
Rough Road Trip
Fort Lewis is coming off a challenging road trip that saw the Skyhawks battle back to a 3-3 draw at Westminster University (5-5-2, 1-1-2 RMAC) before suffering a 4-1 loss to Colorado Mesa University (5-4-2, 2-1-1 RMAC). It was all Lorenz Guintini and Francisco Pinto over the weekend, with both freshmen scoring two goals each. Guintini secured his first career brace against the Griffins, including the equalizer with 35 seconds left in the match, while Pinto scored in both contests.

Comfort of Dirks
Dirks Field is one of two natural grass pitches in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and the only one on campus among men's soccer institutions. Fort Lewis is an unbeaten 3-0-1 at home this season, outscoring opponents a combined 13-4. In addition, the Skyhawks' offense is firing off an average of 20.5 shots per game at home with an average of 7.8 shots-on-goal as well. Opponents are rifling off just 9.3 shots and 3.5 shots on goal per game.

Series with UCCS
Not only does Fort Lewis lead UCCS 47-15-5 all-time, but the Skyhawks also carry a 23-8-1 edge at home and 38-12-5 record in conference action heading into Thursday night. The match will mark the seventh meeting between the two teams over the last three seasons, and the third in Durango over the same span. FLC is 1-1 in those two matches, winning the last showing 4-0 (Nov. 5, 2023) after the Mountain Lions won 3-2 back on Oct. 12, 2023.
 
Conference Leaders
UCCS stands alone at the top of the RMAC standings with 12 total points. The Mountain Lions are a perfect 4-0 thus far, and coming off back-to-back 1-0 shutouts on the road over South Dakota Mines (6-3-2, 1-3-0 RMAC) (Oct. 9) and Regis University (3-4-3, 1-1-1 RMAC) (Oct. 12). Fort Lewis and UCCS met previously this season in Colorado Springs, Colo., back on Sept. 25, when the Skyhawks handed the Mountain Lions a 2-1 loss on their home pitch. The lone score from UCCS came by way of a penalty kick in the 79th minute.

Series with CSU Pueblo
No teams have arguably met more over the past two seasons, or with more on the line, than Fort Lewis and CSU Pueblo. Sunday's match will mark the second meeting this year, and the eighth overall over the last two years. While Fort Lewis holds a 51-15-5 record all-time, a 29-5-3 mark at home, and a 45-9-4 clip in conference play, the ThunderWolves have led the series 4-2-1 since 2023.
 
First Blemish
CSU Pueblo has held its own thus far, coming away with either a win or a draw in every match this season until last Sunday, when the ThunderWolves were handed a 2-0 shutout loss on the road by South Dakota Mines. The Pack had kicked off the season without allowing a goal through six matches, but has since been outscored by opponents 12-11 without a clean sheet. Fort Lewis met CSU Pueblo on the road in Pueblo, Colo., back on Sept. 28, but The Pack held their own at home, defeating FLC 2-1.
