11/4/2025 2:38:00 PM

DURANGO, Colo. – For the second time this season, the Fort Lewis College women's soccer team is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches' National Poll. The Skyhawks carry their shutout streak into the regular season finale on Wednesday against Western Colorado University.

Back in the Ranks
On the heels of four-straight wins, eight-straight shutouts, and the best record since 2015, Fort Lewis is finally receiving national recognition. The Skyhawks are receiving votes for the second time this season, joining Mines (No. 7), UCCS (No. 14), and Colorado Mesa (No. 23) as conference representatives in the poll. In the south-central region, the Skyhawks moved up to No. 5, jumping Regis University in the ranks after completing a shutout of the Rangers.

RMAC Tournament Begins on Dirks
The Skyhawks have secured a home playoff match on Sunday with the game time to be determined (likely 1 PM). Women's soccer seeding is based on a points per match metric due to a league match cancelation between Fort Lewis and Colorado Mesa earlier this season. Fort Lewis currently averages 2.20 PPM with one match remaining, sitting in fourth place behind No. 14 UCCS (2.25 PPM). The Mountain Lions have completed their regular-season schedule, and a win for the Skyhawks tomorrow would leave them with a 2.27 PPM average—good for the No. 3-seed.

Records Falling
This season has proven to be one for the record books, propelling Fort Lewis to a 10-4-2 overall record—the first double-digit win season since 2015. The team is amid eight-consecutive shutouts and over 720 minutes of scoreless soccer, both of which are new program records. The 12 total shutouts this season ranks second in school history, and six goals allowed currently ranks first in the record books.
