COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For his efforts in helping the Skyhawks men's soccer team to a trio of wins and a pair of shutouts over the final weeks of the regular season, Fort Lewis' Casey Stracher has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's final Defensive Player of the Week for 2025.

Stracher, a six-foot defender and a two-year Skyhawk since transferring in during the summer of 2024, has been a staple in Fort Lewis' lineup, starting all 39 matches of his career in the blue and gold. The weekly honor is the second of his career, adding to his defensive award from Nov. 7, 2024.

Over the past two weeks, Stracher helped Fort Lewis wrap up a 5-0 victory over Colorado Christian University, post a 5-1 victory over South Dakota Mines, fall 3-1 to Regis, and rout Adams State, 6-0. He played all 360 minutes across the four matches, tallying two goals and one assist for five total points.

He first assisted on the game-winning and first goal of the match against CCU, and later, earned his first career brace with a two-goal performance yesterday against Adams State. As a defender, he helped limit opponents to just 38 total shots and 19 shots on goal, and 12 corner kicks through 360 minutes of action. In addition, Stracher finished the season with four goals and two assists for 10 total points. As a Skyhawk, Stracher scored six goals and provided six assists for 18 career points.

Fort Lewis' 2025 campaign ended yesterday evening with the Skyhawks finishing the season 9-4-4 overall and 5-3-2 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. The Skyhawks will now look to National Signing Day next week, as well as the spring training season, to prepare for next fall.
