Women’s soccer hosts Regis in RMAC Tournament Quarterfinal

DURANGO, Colo. – After a consistent regular-season with a total of 13 shutouts, the Fort Lewis College women's soccer team has earned the right to host No. 5-seeded Regis University in the RMAC Tournament Quarterfinal on Sunday.

The winner of Sunday's 1:00 PM match will advance to the final site of the conference tournament which will be hosted by Colorado Mesa University on Wednesday in Grand Junction.

Scouting Regis University
The Rangers have been in and out of the national poll this season and carry a 10-4-4 overall record into Sunday's contest. Regis is 2-3-2 on the road and ended the regular season with a 3-1 win over Black Hills State.

Fort Lewis faced Regis on October 26 in Denver and came away with a 1-0 victory thanks to a late goal from senior Abigail Nkrumah. The teams were even in the shots category with 14 apiece, including 12 in the second half for Fort Lewis. The Skyhawks carried a slight edge in shots on goal with eight compared to seven for the Rangers. The teams combined for 16 fouls and the Skyhawks earned a 6-1 advantage in corners.

The Rangers average 1.78 goals per game while allowing .94 per game from their opponents. The team puts up 12 shots per game with a shots on goal percentage of .514. Regis has compiled 25 assists, 95 saves, 66 corners, and 151 fouls.

Natalie Bunch leads the way with 10 goals, followed by the team's point leader in Fernanda Rodriguez at eight goals and seven assists. Elsa Nolen adds six goals, and seven additional players have scored this season. Helen Stegner is the primary goalkeeper who has played in 15 games. She has a 1.24 goals against average with 64 saves.

Back in the Ranks
On the heels of nine-straight shutouts, and the best record since 2015, Fort Lewis is finally receiving national recognition. The Skyhawks are receiving votes for the second time this season, joining Mines (No. 7), UCCS (No. 14), and Colorado Mesa (No. 23) as conference representatives in the poll. In the south-central region, the Skyhawks moved up to No. 5, jumping Regis University in the ranks after completing a shutout of the Rangers.

Records Falling
This season has proven to be one for the record books, propelling Fort Lewis to a 10-4-3 overall record—the first double-digit win season since 2015. The team is amid nine-consecutive shutouts and over 810 minutes of scoreless soccer, both of which are new program records. The 13 total shutouts this season ranks second in school history, and six goals allowed currently ranks first in the record books.

Records being broken typically equates with statistics that are good for top marks in NCAA DII. This is the case in 2025 for Fort Lewis where the team ranks top-10 in several categories, including:
