DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis women's golf team returns to action this week, heading west to make its second spring appearance at the SMSU Challenge at Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Ariz.

Hosted by Southwest Minnesota State, the tournament will span 36 holes at Wigwam Resort's Blue Course. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., the Blue Course features small, elevated greens that favor mid-iron play. Spanning 5,572 yards from the women's championship tees, the Blue Course boasts a par of 70, a rating of 71.4, and a 124 slope.

The tournament features 12 total teams, including MSU Denver, Southwest Minneosta State, MSU Billings, Minnesota Crookston, Saint Martin's, Colorado Mesa, Chadron State, Rockhurst, Bemidji State, Minnesota State Moorhead, and the University of Mary. The Skyhawks will tee off at 10:16 MST on both days.

Sophomore Sarah Grenemyer will lead a field of Skyhawks that includes Vivianna Holguin, Isabel Bustillos, Peyton Gibby, Dimery Plewe, and Annika Gutierrez, who will compete as an unattached individual. Two weeks ago, at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, it was Grenemyer who led Fort Lewis, taking a tie for 59th on a 140-over-par 158 through two rounds.
