Henderson named head coach of Skyhawks women’s golf

DURANGO, Colo. – Fort Lewis College is excited to announce the addition of Todd Henderson as the fourth head coach of the Skyhawks women's golf team.

"We're thrilled to have Todd joining our staff," said Director of Athletics Shawn Jakubowski. "As a former Division II student-athlete, Todd has experienced firsthand the opportunities, advantages, and expectations of the DII landscape. I'm confident that he'll be a strong leader in elevating our women's golf program."

Henderson, a former competitor on the professional mini tours and a men's golf student-athlete at NCAA Division II California State University, Dominguez Hills, comes to Durango following a career in golf operations, and most recently, at Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

"I'm honored to be the new head coach of the Fort Lewis women's golf team," Henderson shared. "I've received an incredibly warm welcome from the Fort Lewis and Durango communities, and I'm grateful to everyone who has made me feel at home. I'm excited to build meaningful relationships with our student-athletes, fellow staff, and the Durango community. Together, we'll strive to create a culture of accountability, growth, and hard work while helping our student-athletes become the best versions of themselves on the golf course, in the classroom, and in life."

Before Desert Mountain, Henderson made stops at Hayden Lake Country Club in Hayden Lake, Idaho, and at El Dorado Park Golf Course in Long Beach, Calif. While splitting time between mini tours and the golf industry, Henderson managed to climb within the top five among amateurs in the Pacific Northwest PGA Section in 2022.

Henderson began his golf career at Millikan High School, where he competed in the California Interscholastic Federation Individual Competition in 2016. He then began his collegiate career at North Idaho College, where he was a back-to-back Northwest Athletic Conference Champion.
