DURANGO, Colo. – The Skyhawks will take to the turf of Mountain Lion Stadium this Saturday and Sunday as Fort Lewis (2-14, 1-10 RMAC) challenges UCCS (11-9, 6-5 RMAC) on the road in a four-game Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series.

Last Time Out
Colorado Christian (16-6, 12-0 RMAC) made its way to Durango last weekend, and the Cougars left with a four-game series sweep. Fort Lewis, however, is the first conference opponent this season to avoid a run-rule loss at the hands of the conference leaders and just the second team this season to push CCU to extra innings. Despite the 4-1 final score, the Skyhawks, backed by a phenomenal outing from Hailie Mann (0-6), who recorded 104 strikes on 154 pitches in her complete-game outing, pushed the Cougars to ten innings before the hottest offense in the league found its footing and broke through.

Skyhawks Leaders
Senior third baseman Briana Jorgensen enters the weekend as the only Skyhawk with a +.300-batting average. The Casa Grande, Ariz., native is slashing .349 with 15 hits, three runs scored, and seven runs batted in (RBI), including three doubles and a home run. Freshman catcher Alyssa Fockler has ten hits to her name as the only other Skyhawk with double-digit hits. Fockler also boasts four doubles and a home run for five runs and four RBIs. As a team, Fort Lewis carries a .201 average with a .272 on-base percentage.

Mann leads all Skyhawks in the circle with 41.1 innings pitched thus far and owns a 4.57 earned run average (ERA) with a. team-high 17 strikeouts. Mann also matches Amiee Shanks (0-4) with three complete games. Freshman Chloe Padilla (1-2) leads the roster with a 2.29 ERA and .217 opponents' average. As a staff, the Skyhawks carry a combined 4.27 ERA and .317 opponents' average.

The Mountain Lions are batting .368 as a team with seven players boasting a .300+ average.
