Skyhawks set for battle of the birds in Chadron

DURANGO, Colo. – Fort Lewis will look to get back on track this Saturday and Sunday as the Skyhawks (8-28, 7-25 RMAC) meet the Eagles (14-24, 10-22 RMAC) at the CSC Softball Field for a four-game Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series up at Chadron State.

Last Time Out
Fort Lewis suffered a four-game sweep at the hands of conference-leading Colorado Mesa (29-9, 27-5 RMAC). The Skyhawks kept it close in game one, falling by a narrow 3-2 margin on the back of a strong outing from right-hander Hailie Mann (2-11) in the circle. Mann scattered nine hits, striking out six, and was supplied with a two-RBI single from Makenna Milliman, but it was a go-ahead three-run homer from CMU that stood as the difference maker.

Series History

Chadron State leads Fort Lewis 26-18-1 in the all-time series and 17-10-1 on the Eagles home field.
The Eagles have won three consecutive games and captured five straight series wins.
The Skyhawks and Eagles did not play in 2024 as the series was canceled due to inclement weather and varying travel conditions.

Scouting the Eagles
Chadron State has been in-step in recent weeks, with the Eagles coming off a 3-1 series win over Regis (13-28, 12-20 RMAC) and a 2-2 series split with Colorado School of Mines (13-29, 12-19 RMAC). With only three weeks left in the regular season, Chadron State will look to use its final two home series as a chance to set the tone for next season.
