DURANGO, Colo. –  After four long weeks the Fort Lewis softball team will finally be back at home on Aspen Field this Sunday and Monday as the Skyhawks (8-24, 7-20 RMAC) play host to the Mavericks (25-9, 23-5 RMAC) from Colorado Mesa for a four-game Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series up on the rim.

Nike N7 and StrikeOut Cancer
Fort Lewis will hold its annual Nike N7 games, presented by SkyUte Resort and Casino, on Sunday. The first 20 fans in attendance will receive a free piece of fry bread as well as a Nike N7 t-shirt. Since its creation in 2009, the Nike N7 Fund has awarded over $7.5 million in grants to 259 Native American and Aboriginal communities and organizations, reaching more than 500,000 youths. The N7 Fund supports organizations that provide sports and physical activity programming to youth in these communities. Fort Lewis College is honored to be one of just 11 institutions nationwide selected to participate in the games.

On Monday, the Skyhawks will hold its inaugural NFCA StrikeOut Cancer games. NFCA's StrikeOut Cancer is a support program that aids member coaches with their own awareness initiatives. The program leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of fastpitch softball coaches nationwide to help increase cancer education and promote healthy living through awareness efforts and fundraising activities. Fort Lewis will donate 50 percent of all ticket sales on Sunday to the CommonSpirit Cancer Center with additional donation options available on game day.
