DURANGO, Colo. – Junior Hannah Hartwell has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Second Team Academic All-America® team for the 2024-25 women's cross country and track & field seasons, earning the prestigious honor for the first time in her career.

The award caps a standout junior year for the California native, who collected three All-American honors across cross country and indoor track. Hartwell, an Environmental Biology major with a 3.97 cumulative GPA, was one of just eight student-athletes from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) to be named to any of the Academic All-America teams.

In June, Hartwell was also recognized on the Academic All-District team, following a breakout year that marked her first eligible season for academic awards. She was a First Team Academic All-Conference selection after the indoor season and delivered on the competition surface as well—finishing fifth at the NCAA Cross Country National Championships to earn First Team All-American honors. At the NCAA Indoor Championships, she added First Team recognition in the 5000 meters and Second Team honors in the 3000 meters.

Hartwell redshirted the 2025 outdoor track season and is set to return for a full slate in 2025-26, competing in cross country, indoor, and outdoor track.

To qualify for Academic All-America® honors, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.50 GPA and demonstrate excellence in athletic competition. Selections are determined by a vote of collegiate sports information directors across the country.
