DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis women's golf team will look to bounce back this Monday and Tuesday as the Skyhawks make their fifth consecutive appearance at the Ruidoso Junior Golf Association's Shootout at Estrella at the Golf Club of Estrella under the desert heat of Goodyear, Arizona.
 
 Last time out, Fort Lewis took home a seventh-place team finish in their 2025-26 season opener at the Swan Memorial up Broadlands Golf Club in Broomfield, Colo. The squad fired off a 624 (+48) team score, edging three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference programs, including Chadron State, South Dakota Mines, and Black Hills State.
 
Dimery Plewe and Sarah Grenemyer carded the best scores among Skyhawks, tying one another for 29th-place with a pair of 155s (+11) overall. Isabel Bustillos and freshman Kathyrn Moores, who made her collegiate debut, finished a pair of strokes behind, tied for 37th at 157 (+13) overall. Annika Gutierrez rounded out the Skyhawks' scoring team in a tie for 54th on a 165 (+21).
 
Peyton Gibby and Ellie White each competed as unattached individuals. White, in her collegiate debut, captured 61st on a 173 (+29), while Gibby joined Grenemyer and Plewe in a tie for 29th with a 155 (+11) of her own.
 
Looking Ahead
Women's golf will take on a weekend slate next Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 20-21, as the Skyhawks head next door to South Jordan, Utah, for the Westminster Wasatch Invitational at Glenmoor Golf Club.
