10/27/2026 2:16:00 PM

DURANGO, Colo. – For the fourth time in 2026, the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team has drawn national attention and received votes on the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll.

The Skyhawks also drew votes on previous polls released on Sept. 1 and Oct. 13, and have held No. 12 and No. 14 national rankings on Sept. 8 and Oct. 6, respectively. Yesterday, Fort Lewis moved to No. 10 on the NCAA Power Index (NPI) rankings for Super Region 4, behind a No. 32 national NPI ranking. NPI will outline the field for the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship, which will be announced on the NCAA Selection Show on Nov. 9.

Fort Lewis has lived on its offensive success and outscored opponents 36-to-20 for the year, while averaging 2.25 goals, 13.3 shots, 6.4 shots on goal, and 4.6 corner kicks per game. Junior midfielder William Bretvik leads the Skyhawks with eight goals and one assist for 17 points. Sophomore midfielder Francisco Pinto adds another five goals and a team-high seven assists for 17 points.

The 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament begins this Sunday, Nov. 1. Fort Lewis has locked up a top seed and will host a quarterfinal match on Dirks Field, but will need to get past Adams State University (2-12-1, 1-8 RMAC) in its regular-season finale and senior-night match tomorrow night, Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m. A win would secure the third overall seed.
