DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis College men's soccer team has returned to the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Coaches' Poll and vaulted to No. 14 nationally following an unbeaten start to Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.

Fort Lewis boasts a 7-2-2 record with an undefeated 4-0 mark against RMAC opponents. The Skyhawks stand alone atop the conference standings with 12 conference points and a four-point edge over the league.

Senior goalkeeper Lucas Martin was named the RMAC Week Six Goalkeeper of the Week earlier today, joining junior Raul Baptista Filipe and freshman Noam Maggartou, the RMAC Week Five Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, as well as Simão Agostinho, the RMAC Week One Offensive Player of the Week, as the fourth Skyhawk to garner a weekly honor this year.

The Skyhawks have won three consecutive matches against RMAC opponents by a 2-1 margin, including a pair of opponents in Metropolitan State University of Denver (5-2-3, 2-1 RMAC) and Colorado Mesa University (4-2-5, 2-1-1 RMAC), who were each receiving votes on the top-25 poll at the time of competition, after a 3-0 win over Colorado Christian University (3-4-4, 2-1 RMAC) to begin league play.

Fort Lewis' offense has been one of the most dangerous around, averaging 2.18 goals per game on 13.27 shots and 6.45 shots on goal per match, with a 48.6 percent shots-on-goal percentage. The marks rank 28th, 70th, 40th, and 44th, respectively, across Division II, as FLC have been shut out just once and scored two or more goals in seven of their 11 matches.

Conference play continues this week as No. 14 Fort Lewis will have its toughest two-match stretch of the year, first taking on No. 23-ranked University of Colorado Colorado Springs (6-1-5, 1-1-2 RMAC) on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. inside Mountain Lion Stadium, followed by No. 7-ranked Colorado State University Pueblo (8-0-2, 2-0-2 RMAC) on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 2:30 p.m. at Art and Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
