RMAC Quarterfinal Result
Fort Lewis had an uncommon, and surely uncomfortable, path to the RMAC Championship Semifinals. The Skyhawks battled historic rainfall in Durango that originally moved the match start time, then the match entirely to Monday night in Colorado Springs, Colo., after both sides were in full kits and warming up for the originally scheduled match Sunday morning on Dirks Field.

Needless to say, the Skyhawks overcame the grueling six-hour bus ride and sudden schedule change and ultimately fought to a 2-2 draw against fifth-seeded South Dakota Mines (8-5-5). William Bretvik and Iver Høihjelle scored goals for the home side, and it was Lucas Martin who saved the third and fifth penalty kick attempts from the spot to send Fort Lewis into the next round and a rematch with the ThunderWolves.

Both sides took 21 shots and seven shots on goal, but it was Fort Lewis who gained the advantage with seven corners to the Hardrockers' four, and committed just 12 fouls to South Dakota Mines' 14.

First Two Meetings with The Pack
The Skyhawks and ThunderWolves are no strangers, having met in recent years for countless editions of non-conference, conference, RMAC Championship, and NCAA regional matches. The score has come up all CSU Pueblo in recent years, with The Pack carrying a six-match winning streak into Wednesday night.

CSUP won 3-1 in Durango back on Sept. 20 after taking advantage of two penalty kicks and a missed penalty attempt by the Skyhawks, despite Fort Lewis taking seven corner kicks to CSUP's one and outshooting the ThunderWolves 20-to-7 overall and 8-to-4 in shots on goal. Bretvik scored the Skyhawks only goal in the 54th minute.

On Oct. 11, when the two teams met for a conference match in Pueblo, The Pack walked away with a 2-0 victory as the Skyhawks posted a first-half shutout, but quickly went down to 10 men early in the second half. FLC was even in shots 3-to-3 and took two corners to the ThunderWolves' one in the opening half.

Skyhawks Leaders
With a goal in Monday night's quarterfinal, Bretvik, a junior midfielder from Lindesnes, Norway, moved into a tie for the most goals in the RMAC and T-2 most in the South Central region, with his 11th of the season. Bretvik also carries two assists for 24 points, good for T-3 in the RMAC and T-4 in the region.

Sophomore sensation and 2025 Honorable Mention All-RMAC midfielder Francisco Pinto, a product of Felgueiras, Portugal, also grabbed an assist Monday evening to tie for the most in the RMAC and region with 10. Pinto also boasts five goals for 20 total points.

Junior midfielder Fabrizio Aguilera sits tied with Pinto with five goals and one assist, and he's followed by Høihjelle's four goals as well as three goals and six assists for 12 points from junior Raul Baptista Filipe. Freshman defender Noam Maggartou has also supplied six assists.

Scouting The Pack
Unbeaten CSU Pueblo will enter Wednesday night's semifinal fresh off a first-round bye in the RMAC Championship, but also cold, as the ThunderWolves have not faced an outside opponent since drawing with No. 23 University of Colorado Colorado Springs 0-0 in the regular season finale back on Oct. 28.

The ThunderWolves, despite being one of four unbeaten teams remaining in all of NCAA Division II, finished second in the RMAC regular season with 24 total points, one shy of first place. The Pack suffered draws with UCCS, conference winners, and then No. 24-ranked Regis University (11-3-3), 1-1, and 1-1 at Colorado Mesa University (4-4-9).

At a glance, CSU Pueblo is averaging 2.44 goals on 14.4 shots, 6.8 shots on goal, and 5.6corners per game, while holding opponents to a stingy 0.63 goals, 8.0 shots, 3.2 shots on goal, and 3.3 corners per game.

Senior goalkeeper Esteban Gonzalez awaits in the woodwork, where he owns a 0.67 goals-against average and 78.7 percent save percentage with 10 goals allowed, 37 saves, and seven shutouts against 122 shots faced. Fifth-year forward Nick Cenek leads the side with 11 goals and 4 assists for 26 points, followed by Juan Pablo Orozco Soto, João Lutz, and Matty Parkes with seven, five, and five goals apiece, respectively.

Looking Ahead
The winner of Wednesday's match will advance to face the winner of first-seeded and No. 15-ranked Regis University and fifth-seeded Westminster University (8-7-4) on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the campus site of the highest remaining seed.
