Skyhawks, Grizzlies to meet on Aspen Field for Saturday/Sunday series

3/27/2026 10:00:00 AM

DURANGO, Colo. – Skyhawks softball is returning to Aspen Field this Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 28-29, with Fort Lewis playing host to Adams State University (6-24, 5-15 RMAC) for a four-game Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series. Doubleheaders are scheduled for Noon on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Bounce Back
Fort Lewis will look to its home crowd for a spark after suffering a four-game sweep last weekend at the hands of Colorado State University Pueblo (19-11, 15-5 RMAC). Despite putting up just 17 hits in the series, the Skyhawks dropped two games by a single run, including a 10-inning bout, and a third by just three runs. Skyler Dietz, Alex Tenorio, Stella Romeo, and Trista Hoobler all had multi-hit games against the ThunderWolves, with Romeo leading the group with a pair of multi-hit games, as well as posting her first collegiate home run with a three-run shot in game two. Dietz also turned in a pair of doubles in game one.

Home Dirt
Aspen Field set the stage for the Skyhawks' first home wins this season, 1-0 (10 Inn.) and 9-8, over the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (17-12, 11-9 RMAC) back on Mar. 14. Hailie Mann scattered 10 Mountain Lions hits en route to the 10-inning complete-game shutout, and Fort Lewis erupted in game two, matching UCCS with a five-run first inning before putting the game away with four runs across the fifth and sixth innings. Carmen Alexander, Dietz, Tenorio, and Hoobler all had multi-hit performances in the offensive clinic. Despite dropping both games on Sunday, the Skyhawks put up 21 hits for 12 runs and lost one of the two games by one run.
