DURANGO, Colo. – Fort Lewis College head women's soccer coach Damian Clarke has announced the signing of
Savannah Boarman to a National Letter of Intent.
"Savannah will impact the program from day one," said Clarke. "She is a teammate of
Kyleigh Wierenga, and one of three from the Pride Soccer Club. Same as Kyleigh, she has won a lot of soccer games, and is an exceptional student in the classroom. Savannah will most likely add to our back line, as she is comfortable on the ball and an athletic player."
A native of Colorado Springs, Boarman is a 5-foot-11 midfielder and defender. She is a two sport athlete at Cheyenne Mountain High School, where she has competed in basketball and soccer for the Indians.
A two-year starter at CHS, Boarman lettered three years with the soccer team and was a 4A League Champion and State Quarterfinalist in 2012. Boarman and the Indians followed that performance with another league championship and the state title in 2013. She was named the Defensive Most Valuable Player in the 2013 State High School Championship game. A captain on the soccer team, Boarman was named Academic All-State in 2012-13, and earned an academic letter in 2010-11 and 2011-12.
Boarman competes on the Pride Soccer Club team that has won three Club Colorado State Cup Championships (2009, 2010, 2013).
The Skyhawks, who have made five NCAA Tournament appearances, will open their 2014 season Sept. 4-6 at home against Texas Woman's University and Midwestern State University.
