Men’s Soccer Shut Out by Metro State, 3-0

Box Score DURANGO, Colo. – Metropolitan State University of Denver scored three second half goals Sunday afternoon to shutout the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team, 3-0, at Dirks Field.
 
Both teams were held scoreless in the first half of action as the Skyhawks posted five shots to the Roadrunners three. 
 
MSU came out strong in the second half, scoring just 53 seconds into the half when Jack Mayfield scored his second goal of the season.  Brenden Hughes found Andy Lopez in the 70th minute to earn his eighth goal of the season.  Mayfield earned his third point of the game when he and Nolan Barth found Michael Jordahl for the third score of the afternoon.
 
Thirteen of the Skyhawks (8-7-1, 5-7-0 RMAC) 18 shots came in the second half.  Eight of the shot attempts were on frame.  Metro State (10-3-3, 8-2-2 RMAC) notched 12 shots against t the Skyhawks, with six landing on goal.
 
Fort Lewis will play their final regular season home game Friday against Colorado Mines at 3:30 PM.
