2014 Skyhawks Women's Soccer Game Day Notes - Oct. 7, 2014Jessica Singleton's goal on Friday at Colorado Christian snapped a 361 minute scoring drought by Fort Lewis. Â Singleton's goal came off of a penalty kick in the 11th minute.
The Skyhawks have not allowed a goal in 528 minutes, recording five straight shutouts.
Five of FLC's 10 games this season have gone into overtime, including four of their five home games which have all resulted in 0-0 double overtime draws.
The Skyhawks are fourth in the league in shots (145, 14.50 shots per game).
Fort Lewis ranks fifth in the league in goals allowed (seven), goals against average (0.72), and shutouts (six).
Caitlyn Espinosa is sixth in the league in goals against average (0.83) and is tied for fourth with shutouts (five).
Jordan Hix has recorded 21 shots, tying her for the 11th most in the league.
FLC will face the two leading goal scorers in the league this weekend – Michaela Mansfield of UCCS and Anyssa Dagnino of NMHU.  Both have netted 10 points on five goals.
Scouting the Mountain LionsThe Mountain Lions are ranked in the middle of the conference (fifth) in points (29), goals (11) and assists (7).
Despite having the fewest shutouts (one) in the league and the highest goals against average (2.00), UCCS is tied for second overall in the RMAC in saves (54), averaging 6.00 saves per game.
Michaela Mansfield and Hannah Levett lead the Mountain Lions offense with 22 shots each, tying them for eighth most in the RMAC.
Mansfield leads the league in points (10) and goals (five), while Levett is tied for fourth overall with nine points and four goals (league high three game-winning goals). Â
Between the posts for UCCS is Grace Ramsden who is second in the RMAC in saves (53) and 11th in goals against average (2.00).
Scouting the CowgirlsThe Cowgirls lead the league in shots (166), assists (16) and ate tied for the most shutouts (seven). Â They rank second in points (42), third in goals (13), and fourth in goals allowed (six) and goals against average (0.57).
The duo of Mallory Bostic and Anyssa Ganino lead the NMHU offense. Â Bostic has an RMAC high 46 shots and four assists, while Ganino has an RMAC high 10 points and five goals.
About the Skyhawks
The Skyhawks have a new look this season under first year head coach
Jimmy Hall. Â Hall, who was a member of the men's soccer team from 2000-03, served as the Skyhawks women's soccer assistant coach the past three years. Â On the field, the Skyhawks lost eight returning starters from last season and have 12 freshman (plus five redshirt freshman).
Fort Lewis is coming off a 16-6-0 season that saw them make their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance. Â The lone "senior" on the team is
Shea Haycock. Â Haycock, who has one year of eligibility remaining, will graduate from Fort Lewis this December.
FLC, which was picked fourth overall in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason poll by the league's head coaches, was ranked 24th in the NSCAA preseason poll. Â After a 1-0-1 opening weekend, the Skyhawks dropped out of the top 25 but did receive votes in the poll.
