Joseph Spinelli earned Honor Roll accolades.
To qualify for Academic All-RMAC, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.30 or better, be a starter or reserve, and have completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their current institution. The student-athlete's cumulative GPA is what they had earned prior to the cross country season beginning. All RMAC Sports Information Directors selected the first team.
A native of Albuquerque, N.M., Chenoweth owns a 3.94 GPA in Exercise Science. Chenoweth competed in five races in his senior season for the Skyhawks. His top 8K time of season was 26:58.8 which he posted on Oct. 18 at the Fort Hays State Open. In his last race, Chenoweth ran a 30:03 at the RMAC Championship on Nov. 8 in Gunnison, Colo. He earned the inaugural RMAC Summit Award for men's cross country, which is giving to the competitor at the RMAC Championship with the highest GPA. He is making his third appearance on the RMAC All-Academic team (Honor Roll in 2012 and 2013).
Brenner, who was named to the All-Academic Honor Roll in 2013 and the All-Academic second team in 2012, has a 3.60 GPA in Engineering. He ran in five races for the Skyhawks in 2014, including the NCAA South Central Regional race. He ran the 10K race in 34:50 in Denver, Colo. to finish 63
rd overall. His fastest 8K time was ran on Oct. 18 at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open (25:21.3).
Lagasca is making his second straight appearance on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll. An Environmental Studies major with a 3.31 GPA, Lagasca ran in five races for the Skyhawks. He finished 64
th overall at the NCAA South Central Regional 10K race (34:51), and 60
th at the RMAC Championship 8K race (28:17.20).
Spinelli is making his first appearance on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll. A native of Flagstaff, Ariz., Spinelli has a 3.39 GPA in Exercise Science. He finished the Joe Vigil Open 8K race in 28:19.32 to place 32
nd overall.
