Rattler’s Bite Skyhawks, 2-1

Box Score LAREDO, Texas – September 12, 2014  St. Mary's University handed the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team their second straight loss Friday night.  The Rattlers defeated Fort Lewis, 2-1, on a neutral site field in Laredo, Texas.  

Yannis Becker netted his first goal of the season at 31:38 on a free shot from 15 yards out to give the Skyhawks a 1-0 lead heading into the second half.  SMU's Ryan Hoskins knotted the game at 56:39 and struck again at 83:27 to seal the win for St. Mary's.    

The loss moves the Skyhawks to 1-2-0 on the season while the Rattlers improve to 2-0-1.  Becker led both teams with six shots (three on goal).  Fort Lewis outshot SMU, 12-9.

Freshman Niall Burdon made two saves in goal.  

The Skyhawks will play host school Texas A&M International Sunday at 12:30 p.m. (MT).
