Skyhawk Women's Soccer Game Day Notes - Sept. 16, 2014Up NextFort Lewis will remain on the road for the second straight weekend and will split time between Colorado and New Mexico. Â The Skyhawks will open the conference season Friday at Regis University. Â
Regis is 2-1-1 on the young season after earning wins against Northwest Nazarene and Eastern New Mexico. Â They drew a 0-0 tie against Cal State Dominguez Hills and fell 3-0 to Cal Poly Pomona in their last outing. Â
Paulina Salazar has netted two of the Rangers five goals this season and leads the team with four points. Â Kat Cump has played all 380 minutes between the posts. Â She has a 0.95 goals against average and two shutouts to her credit.
Fort Lewis is 11-27-4 all-time against the Rangers and 4-13-2 at Regis.
On Sunday, the Skyhawks will make the trip south on I-25 to Las Vegas, N.M. where they will face the 3-1-0 Cowgirls. Â NMHU is 2-0 at home this season, notching shutout wins against West Texas AM and Eastern New Mexico.
Six different Cowgirls have found the back of the net in four games this season. Â Anyssa Dagnino has tallied three goals for a team high six points. Â Sarah Beecher is 3-1-0 in goal and has made 12 saves as part of her 1.04 goals against average.
Fort Lewis leads the series with NMHU with a 27-3-4 advantage. Â The Skyhawks are 12-2-3 in Las Vegas, N.M.
Last Time Out The Skyhawks travelled to Dallas, Texas last week to play their last regular non-conference games of the season.  Fort Lewis faced Angelo State on Friday and dropped a 4-0 decision to the Rambelles.  The last time the Skyhawks were shutout by four goals was Oct. 7, 2011 at Colorado Mines.
On Sunday facing host team Dallas Baptist University, the Skyhawks went into overtime with the Patriots, falling 1-0 less than two minutes into the extra stanza.
Fort Lewis has been held without a goal for three straight games.  The last  time FLC was scoreless for three games was in 2008 (Oct. 26-Nov. 2).

Jimmy Hall. Â Hall, who was a member of the men's soccer team from 2000-03, served as the Skyhawks women's soccer assistant coach the past three years. Â On the field, the Skyhawks lost eight returning starters from last season and have 12 freshman (plus five redshirt freshman).
Fort Lewis is coming off a 16-6-0 season that saw them make their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance. Â The lone "senior" on the team is
Shea Haycock. Â Haycock, who has one year of eligibility remaining, will graduate from Fort Lewis this December.
FLC, which was picked fourth overall in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason poll by the league's head coaches, was ranked 24th in the NSCAA preseason poll. Â After a 1-0-1 opening weekend, the Skyhawks dropped out of the top 25 but did receive votes in the poll.
