Box Score DURANGO, Colo. – September 7, 2014 – St. Edward's University took advantage of the Skyhawks playing a man down for 50 minutes as they came away with a goal in the 75
th minute to top the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Dirks Field.
The loss was the Skyhawks first of the season as they move to 1-1-0 on the year. The win was the first for SEU (1-0-0).
Fort Lewis received a red card at 40:43 and played 10 vs. 11 for the final 50 minutes.
Primo Covarrubias netted the game-winning goal for the Hilltoppers at 75:53.
The Skyhawks totaled 14 shots against SEU (six on goal). Freshman
Niall Burdon faced 12 shots (four on goal) and made two saves.
Fort Lewis will travel to Laredo, Texas to face St. Mary's on Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m., and host school Texas A&M-International on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
