HAYS, Kan. – October 8, 2016 – The Fort Lewis College men's and women's cross country teams competed Saturday at the annual Fort Hays State University Tiger Open in Hays, Kans. The Skyhawks men's team posted 215 points to finish sixth overall. The Skyhawks women's team scored 204 points to place eighth.
Becca Bramley led the women's team again, this time with a 21
st place finish in 17:47.9 in the 5K race. Bramley's time of 17:47.9 is a school record in a women's 5K race.

th place, 18:29.7),
Emily Bryant (68
th place, 18:51.8) and
Cassandra Porter (75
th place, 19:03.1).
Georgia Porter of Western State Colorado led all women's runners with a time of 16:33.7.
Adams State University won both team races. The ASU men's team tallied 45 points to lead all 19 teams, and the Grizzlies women's team led all 15 teams with 54 points.
Garrett Sapakoff paced the men with a 15
th place finish in the 8K race with a time of 24:45.6. Sapakoff was 32 seconds off from breaking Christian Gering's record of 24:13.17.
Hosava Kretzmann crossed the finished line in 24:54.4 for a 21
st place finish.

Sylas Schutt (74
th place, 26:00.2) and
Michael Walker (97
th place, 26:22.1) rounded out the Skyhawks top five runners.
Joe Moore won the individual title in 23:34.2.
The Skyhawks next competition will be the 2016 RMAC Championship meet Oct. 22 in Spearfish, S.D.
