ALAMOSA, Colo. – After coming off a pair of home wins, the Fort Lewis College volleyball team will look to ride that momentum into a road matchup with Adams State University Tuesday night in Alamosa starting at 7 p.m.
FLC (3-9, 3-5 RMAC) improved to 3-1 at home this season after the perfect 2-0 mark inside Whalen Gym this past weekend, picking up a five-set win against New Mexico Highlands and then a sweep of CSU-Pueblo.
Kendra Swackenberg had a big couple of games dishing out 80 assists, along with adding 12 kills, with six in each game. She also posted 26 digs and added a block. Haley Christiansen paced the offense with 28 kills and tallied her eighth and ninth double-doubles of the season adding 29 digs. Megan Graefe was strong on the back line with 49 digs and she also tallied eight assists.
Christiansen continues to lead the offense with 134 kills, followed by Bailey Longacre with 99 and 75 from Ohiyah Shirley. Swackenberg leads the offense with 234 assists, while on defense, Christiansen leads the team in digs with 165, with Graefe right behind with 161 and in terms of blocks, Longacre has 24 and Maddie LeBlanc adds 20.
It was a strong offensive showing over the past two games, as FLC posted their top-two highest offensive percentage numbers against the Cowgirls and ThunderWolves. They hit .284 against CSU-Pueblo and .267 against N.M. Highlands. The 71 kills against N.M. Highlands was also a season-best. 
Adams State is 6-10 overall and also 3-5 in RMAC play. They split this past weekend defeating CSU-Pueblo (3-1) and falling in five sets to N.M. Highlands. They have other conference victories against Westminster and Chadron State. 
Hannah Goddard leads the offense with 179 kills, followed by Shannon Mulkey with 162 and Julianna Zamora with 129. Rachael Ringler has 627 assists, while on defense, Mackenzie Swanson has 232 digs and Mulkey has sent back 44 blocks.
Last season, the teams only played once with Adams State hanging on for the five set win in Durango. The last meeting in Alamosa took place in 2016 and the Grizzlies took the 3-0 victory. 
The two teams will meet again in Durango at the beginning of November on Friday, Nov. 2 for senior night at 7 p.m. 
The road trip will continue following the game in Alamosa as the Skyhawks will travel to Denver to face Regis on Friday at 7 p.m. and then against Colorado Christian on Saturday at 5 p.m.
