Doppler to Transfer from Bismarck State College to Play for Volleyball

DURANGO, Colo. – Liza Doppler spent the past two seasons playing at Bismarck State College, will transfer to Fort Lewis College to play for the volleyball team this coming season. She will be an incoming junior.

Doppler, a 5-foot-8 outside hitter, paced the Mystics this past season with 370 kills, 39 service aces, 398 digs and 33 total blocks in 35 matches and 116 sets played. She had 20 matches with double-digit kills going for a season-high 19 kills against Lake Region State College. Doppler also added 20 double-figure dig matches, going for at least 20 or more on four different occasions and had a high of 27 against Fort Scott CC. She sent back four blocks in a game in two different matches. Bismarck State College went 27-8 this past season, advancing to the NJCAA Region XIII Championship game. Doppler finished the season landing on the NJCAA Division II All-Region XIII Team.

During her first season, Doppler compiled 324 kills, 33 service aces, 333 digs and 49 blocks in 38 matches and 127 total sets. She posted 18 kills against Williston State College, going for at least 10 kills in 15 games. Doppler tallied 19 digs in two different games, going for double-digit digs 16 times and sent back six blocks against North Dakota State College of Science. She was part of a strong first season as the Mystics went 29-9, advancing to the District G Playoff.

Doppler played at Century High School in Bismarck, N.D., where she was part of a team that went 32-1 her senior season.
