COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released the official bracket for the RMAC Softball Tournament late Saturday evening; a double-elimination tournament scheduled for this upcoming Thursday through Saturday (May 13-15) in Grand Junction.

Fort Lewis College (19-21 overall, 19-17 RMAC) earned the sixth and final playoff spot, edging out CSU Pueblo (21-18 overall, 19-17 RMAC) via the third tiebreaker criteria.

FLC and CSU Pueblo each finished the 2021 spring with a .528 conference winning percentage and 2-2 records head-to-head. However, the Skyhawks topped the ThunderWolves, 111-103, using the RMAC's Approved Rating System that assigns points to determine quality of wins.

This week marks the first trip back to the RMAC Tournament for the Skyhawks since 2014, when they entered as the No. 8 seed and advanced all the way to the RMAC Championship game against Metropolitan State University of Denver. The 2014 team finished 26-29 overall, 19-19 in the RMAC that spring.

Fort Lewis will load the bus Wednesday and head out to Grand Junction to face No. 3 seed Colorado Christian University at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at CMU Softball Field. The winner of that game plays again at 6:30 p.m. Thursday against top-seed and tournament host, Colorado Mesa University.

The RMAC Softball Tournament resumes with Day Two action starting at 11 a.m. Friday, while the semi-finals and championship games are scheduled for Saturday.
