WICHITA FALLS, Texas. – Ronald Kildall III led the Fort Lewis College men's golf team through a challenging field of competition to a 13th-place team finish in the Midwestern State Invitational at the Wichita Falls Country Club Tuesday afternoon.

Midland Community College stole the show and the first-place team title with an 840 (287, 273, 280) on the scorecard, finishing twelve strokes under par. Fort Lewis took home 13th-place, putting an 885 (295, 295, 295) on the scorecard and finishing 33 strokes over par.

Mauricio Figueroa clinched the individual title for the tournament, finishing with a 203 (-10) and evading a three-way tie by just a single stroke. Killdall III had the strongest performance for the Skyhawks, totaling 220 (71, 74, 75) across all three rounds and finishing seven over par.

As a team, Fort Lewis landed 146 pars and picked up 47 birdies. The Skyhawks averaged a 3.30 finish on par threes, 4.25 on par fours, and 4.91 on par fives.

Round One (295, +11)
Riley Rottschafer was the only Skyhawk to finish below par in round one. The senior scored a 69 through his first 18 holes, finishing two under par and tied for eighth as an individual. Rottschafer tallied five birdies alongside a three-pack of bogeys. Fort Lewis as a unit totaled 17 birdies in the opening round, but 19 bogeys, five double-bogeys, and three triple bogeys plagued the FLC scorecards.

Round Two (295, +11)
Fort Lewis suffered a troubled second round in Wichita. The Skyhawks held its total bogeys to 19 while dropping double bogeys to three, however, a lone triple bogey and just 13 birdies kept the scorecards up. Rottschafer continued to be the leading man through round two, scoring a 75 (+4) in his second trip around the course.

Round Three (295, +11)
The challenges continued for FLC heading into the final round. As a team, Fort Lewis brought its birdie total back up to 17, but day three provided an identical 19 bogeys. While the Skyhawks were able to scratch the triple bogey, seven double bogeys and a single quadruple bogey forced FLC to match its round one and two scorecards. Kildall III pulled back in front in the final round, leading the team through the final 18 with a 75 (+4).
