The second match of the weekend was a different battle for Fort Lewis. The Skyhawks took on Montana State University Billings, and were stuck chasing the Yellowjackets all match. The MSUB offense was prepared to strike at any moment, leading the Skyhawks 11 total shots to seven. Additionally, the 'Jackets targeted seven of their 11 total shots on goal while FLC found just a single shot on goal. Unable to kickstart any offense, the Skyhawks fell 1-0.

RU picked up a 2-1 win in the season opener over Texas A&M International but proceeded to fall in three consecutive matches to Midwestern State University, California State San Bernardino, and California State San Marcos. The Rangers found their footing at home in 2-1 win over Seattle Pacific University, but then fell twice more against Western Washington University and MSU Denver last Wednesday.

Rayhan Carlson-Du Toit is the commander of the Rangers offense, accounting for four of the teams seven total goals this year. Elias Taubo, Vilhjalmur Kaldal, and Michael Jimenez have each added a single goal as well.

Scouting MSU Denver
With a 5-1-1 overall record this year, the Roadrunners trail Colorado Mesa University by just a tie for the top of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference ahead of conference play. Averaging 2.29 goals per game, MSU Denver has dominated opponents thus far. The only blemish on the Roadrunners record came from Fort Hays State, who was the No. 7 team on the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll at the time. The tie on the MSU Denver record comes from the season opener against San Francisco State which ended in a 2-2 tie.

The Roadrunners have a plethora of offensive threats with nine different players all scoring goals on the season. Leading the offense is the dynamic duo of Aidan Bates and Aaron Biggerstaff. While each have scored four goals, Bates leads the pair with three assists to his name compared to Biggerstaff's one. In goal stands one of the conference's best, Ross Miller. Miller has just five goals against all season for an average of 0.71 alongside a 0.839 save percentage with 26 total thus far.
