Heating Up
Fort Lewis is off to a hot 2023 season after downing Eastern New Mexico University and West Texas A&M University 3-1 and 2-0 at home on Dirks Field. Gabriel Legendre has owned the hot foot for the Skyhawks, and it's one of the best in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Legendre is one of three players in the league to score a goal in each game played this season. Emmett Layman stands on Legendre's heels, however, scoring a goal in two of his three matches played across just 142 minutes. David Citron and Quinn Bosanko have each nabbed two assists thus far: a mark that ties for third across the RMAC.

Scouting the Red Leafs
Simon Fraser, a weathered foe that received votes on last week's United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll, will be awaiting FLC with a chip on its shoulder riding a two-game losing streak. The Red Leafs, host to both matches this weekend, sit at 2-2 on the season after losses to California State University Chico and Sonoma State University.

Leading the rank and file among the Red Leafs is freshman Koji Poon. Poon, a five-foot-nine, Vancouver, British Columbia native, has posted two goals on seven total shots across 262 minutes on the pitch. Awaiting the invading Skyhawks in goal is redshirt senior Justyn Sandhu. The six-foot-three, Richmond, British Columbia native led the GNAC in 2022 with a 1.00 goals-against average while making 69 saves against 225 shots faced and allowing 17 total goals (.802 save percentage). Sandhu was a Second-Team All-GNAC honoree in 2022.

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
MSU Billings is off to a hot 2023 with a 3-1 overall record. The Yellow Jackets are on the hunt to answer for its lone blemish thus far, a 7-3 loss in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Texas A&M International University.

The Yellow Jackets boast a lineup with six different goal scorers thus far, but none more threatening than sophomore Ty Vohland. A six-foot native of Sherwood, Oreg., Vohland has taken nine shots thus far - eight of which were placed on goal - and found the back of the net four times in 214 minutes. Additionally, Vohland owns one of MSUB's three game-winning goals alongside Callum Bryan and Kolja Thomas who have tallied a single goal each.

Looking Ahead
Fort Lewis has a split schedule next week, first hosting Adams State University for a non-conference tilt on Friday, Sep. 22, at 7:00 p.m. before traveling to Metropolitan State University of Denver for its final non-conference match of the year with the Roadrunners on Sunday, Sep. 24, at 1:00 p.m.
