Scouting the Grizzlies
Adams State enters the weekend with an identical record to the Skyhawks at 2-15 overall and 0-8 in league play while also riding an 11-game losing streak. The Grizzlies have not won since downing Davis & Elkins College (7-6) by an 11-6 margin at the Cactus Classic in Tuscon, Ariz., back on Feb. 9. Since then, ASU has suffered back-to-back conference sweeps at the hands of Colorado Christian and Regis (12-6, 8-0 RMAC).

Aubree Davis (2-6) leads the Grizzlies in the circle with a pair of wins alongside a 6.33 ERA through 55.1 innings of work. Davis has surrendered 81 total runs, only 50 of which have been earned, on 93 total hits with opposing batters sporting a .356 average. At the plate, Makayla Veglia has been the hottest bat for ASU as the freshman from San Diego, Calif., boasts a .348 average through 46 at-bats. Most notably, Adams State is 19-22 on stolen base attempts this season with bags nabbed by eight different base runners and primarily from Kaia Bradford who is a perfect 8-8 thus far.

Looking Ahead
Fort Lewis will return home in two weeks to host the Rangers from Regis for another four-game conference series up on the Skyhawks' Aspen Field. Doubleheaders will be played on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8-9, with noon and 11:00 a.m. start times, respectively.
