DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis College outdoor track team will have a pair of individuals competing at the 2024 NCAA DII Outdoor Championships, announced by the NCAA on Tuesday.

Junior Hannah Hartwell has burst onto the scene in her first semester as a Skyhawk, earning First Team All-Conference nods in the 10,000m. Her distance prowess has drawn a spot in the 10k at the National Championships where she is seeded 18th with a time of 34:49.54.

The women's 10k is heavily represented by conference familiars as seven of the 20 selected hail from the RMAC. The race is set to close out day one of the Championships on Thursday, May 23rd with a 6:50 p.m. MT start from Emporia, Kansas.

Senior Katie Heck will close out her illustrious career by competing in both the 800m and the 1500m at the Championships. After earning All-Conference accolades in both events this season, Heck will begin her competition with the 1500m prelims at 3:25 p.m. on Thursday. The reigning National Runner-Up, Heck enters the prelim ranked eighth with a seed time of 4:21.41. Joining her in the 1500m are 10 members of RMAC institutions. Should she advance, the finals will be on Saturday at 12:35 p.m.

Her 800m outing starts on Friday with the prelims at 5:15 p.m. She ranks 11th in the field with a time of 2:08.50. Six RMAC student-athletes are competing in the 800m. The finals will be on Saturday at 1:55 p.m.
