Heck earns CSC Second Team Academic All-America® recognition

DURANGO, Colo. – Senior Katie Heck has been named to the CSC Second Team Academic All-America team for the 2023-24 women's cross country and track & field seasons.

The Academic All-America honor is the first of Heck's career but is one of many illustrious accolades that the phenom racked up in the blue and gold. The recently graduated Colorado native earned her degree in Business Administration in May, completing her undergraduate studies with a 3.90 cumulative grade point average (GPA).

In addition to earning Academic All-District accolades, Heck was an RMAC First Team All-Academic selection for the second time in her career. She earned First Team All-American honors in cross country and outdoor track (1500m) this season. In total, across cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track, she was a six-time All-Conference honoree, earned All-American honors four times, and was the national runner-up in the 1500m in 2023.

To be considered for Academic All-America distinction, honorees must hold a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and distinguish themselves with outstanding performance in their sport. Nominees are voted on by sports information directors.
