Hartwell named National Runner of the Week following Lewis win

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) released its National Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon and Fort Lewis College's Hannah Hartwell brought home the second honor of the season.

Hartwell, the top-ranked cross country runner in NCAA Division II, brought home the individual title at the prestigious Lewis Crossover Invitational on Saturday. Hartwell crossed the finish line .02 seconds ahead of Claire Rethman of Walsh University. The win gives Hartwell two individual titles this season, and the senior has been named the national and conference runner of the week once prior to this week.

Fort Lewis will take two weeks off of competition to train and prepare for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Championships at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs.
