Cross country begins championship schedule at RMAC's

DURANGO, Colo. – Championship season is upon us for the Fort Lewis College men's and women's cross country teams as the begin their quest for national berths at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Championships.

RMAC Championships Information
The Skyhawks, alongside all member schools in the league, will compete at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs on Saturday with the women's 6k at 9:30 AM and the men's 8k at 10:15 AM.
  • Course Description: The RMAC Championship course at Monument Valley Park is mostly a 5-6 meter wide path of crushed gravel with grass start and finish sections.  The course consists of an upper 2k loop and a lower 2k loop.  The women will run a lower 2k, upper 2k, and end with the lower 2k loop.  The men's race will feature the same route, with an additional upper 2k loop added to conclude the race.
  • Notables: Fort Lewis' own Hannah Hartwell will be defensing her course record which was set in 2024 at the UCCS XC Open. Hartwell ran a time of 21:08 in the 6k to earn the individual crown

Awards Season
In the RMAC Championships, the top 14 finishers in each race will earn First Team All-RMAC honors. Second Team honors to go those who finish 15th-28th. The first overall finisher in the men's and women's races will be named the RMAC Runner of the Meet, and the first freshman to cross the line will earn RMAC Freshman of the Meet nods.

All 15 RMAC schools will be competing on Saturday, including 12 men's and women's teams ranked in the October 15 version of the USTFFCCCA Top-25 poll:

Up Next
Fort Lewis will turn its attention to the 2025 South Central Regional Championships on Saturday, November 8 at the Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo. The women's 6k begins at 10 AM, followed by the men's 10k at 11:15 AM.
