BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The Fort Lewis women's golf team cut its first-round score in half, carding a 296 (+8) in round two to climb into fourth place while the Skyhawks men shot a combined three-under-par 285 to hold steady in the middle of the pack at the second round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships.

True freshman Peyton Gibby maintained her third-place individual standing, shooting a one-over-par 73 to bring her two-round score to an even-par of 144. Gibby still trails the tournament's individual leader, Westminster's Ashley Lam (140, -4), by four strokes.

With Gibby leading the charge, the Skyhawks women shaved off seven strokes from day one to jump Colorado Mesa and take sole control of fourth place in the team standings. Fort Lewis, sitting at 599 (+23), still trails third-place Westminster (592, +16), second-place CSU Pueblo (589, +13), and first-place Colorado Christian (587, +11).

Isabel Bustillos shot a team-best and two-under-par 70 in round two, bringing the sophomore's overall score to 149 (+5), good for a 19-spot jump into a tie for 10th place. On the men's side, redshirt junior Jordan Jennings jumped seven spots on the individual leaderboard into sole possession of third place, carding a 65, a new single-round career low and the second lowest of the tournament thus far, to bring his overall total to 135 (-9).  Jennings sits one stroke back from Colorado Christian's Sungyeop Cho (134, -10) and six strokes back from the Cougars' Sangha Park (129, -15), who shot a course record and RMAC Championship record 62 (-10).

Fort Lewis, sitting at 565 (-11) overall, fell to fourth place on the men's leaderboard as CSU Pueblo edged the Skyhawks with a 280 (-8) in round two to sit one stroke ahead at 564 (-12) overall. Colorado School of Mines maintained a steady gap in second place with a 550 (-26) total while Colorado Christian holds a commanding lead over the field at 543 (-33) overall.

Three additional Skyhawks will head into the final round sitting inside the top 25, including Ronald Kildall III in 12th with a 142 (-2) total, as well as Traejan Andrews and Tyler Tyson, who sit dead-even in a tie for 17th with a pair of pars (142).
