PUEBLO, Colo. – Traejan Andrews carded an even par 142 to sit just outside of the top ten after the first two rounds. At the same time, the Fort Lewis Skyhawks men's golf team found itself chasing the top half of the field by three strokes in T-12 on a 590 (+22) at a familiar Pueblo Country Club for The Sam Proal.

Fort Lewis opened the 36-hole event with a 298 (+14) in round one on the strength of eight birdies and a pair of eagles across the board. In round two, the Skyhawks made a four-stroke improvement, scoring a 292 (+8) to sit tied with Colorado School of Mines' B-team in 12th. FLC trails No. 13-ranked Colorado State University Pueblo, No. 15 Colorado Mesa University, and Lubbock Christian University in T-9 by three strokes, and Hutchinson Community College and the top five by 12 strokes.

No. 31 Colorado Christian University leads the field by one stroke at 561 (-7), chased by No. 13 CSU Pueblo and No. 17 West Texas A&M University by a single stroke in T-2 at 562 (-6) overall. On the individual leaderboard, CCU's Peyton Jones, ranked No. 58 as an individual on SCOREBOARD, carries a two-stroke lead into the final round at 133 (-9) overall.

All six Skyhawks scored above par in their first 18 holes around Pueblo Country Club's 6,428-yard, par 71 course, led by Andrews' 73 (+2), with 11 pars and eagles on the hole four 366-yard par four and hole 14 550-yard par five. Jake Chesler, Jordan Jennings, Ian Henderson, and Chase Rogers all fired a 75 (+4). Chesler, Henderson, and Rogers carded two birdies each.

Andrews bounced back in his second round to finish under par, scoring five birdies en route to a 69 (-2) to drop his overall total to an even par of 142, good to sit T-13 and a pair of strokes back from the top 10. Rogers and Chesler finished T-51 at 149 (+7), matching one another with a 74 (+3) in round two, Rogers with one birdie and Chesler with an eagle on hole 14.

Henderson managed to post one birdie and cut down a bogey in his second round, scoring his second 75 (+4) to sit in T-56 on a 150 (+8). Jennings matched Henderson's 150 to join him in T-56, instead adding a second birdie to offset a double bogey. Benjamin Harding, competing as an unattached individual, carded an 82 (+11) in round one, but shaved off 11 strokes to fire an even par 71 on the strength of four birdies to sit T-72 at 153 (+11) overall.
