DURANGO, Colo. – Fort Lewis College Men's Soccer Head Coach David Oberholtzer is thrilled to announce the addition of Giulio Bregu as the program's newest assistant coach.

"Opportunities are the best challenges a coach can embrace, and I'm excited to help this program grow and reach new heights," Bregu shared. "I truly appreciate the trust Fort Lewis has placed in me. Together, we'll work to make this team stronger and more successful. Go Skyhawks!"

A native of Borgo San Lorenzo, Italy, Bregu played for the Fortis Juventus fourth division before making his move to the United States in 2018 to play collegiately at Monroe University in The Bronx, New York. In his one season with the Mustangs, Bregu helped the team to a 12-2-2 overall record, an NJCAA Division I Northeast District Championship, and an appearance in the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship Semifinals.

Bregu later took his talents to Illinois Central College, where he helped the Cougars amass a 15-3-1 overall record and an appearance in the Region 24 Championship match. He later capped his career with one season at Spring Hill College in 2023 before becoming a student assistant coach for the 2024 campaign.

"We're excited to welcome Giulio into the Fort Lewis Soccer family and are looking forward to the 2025 campaign," Oberholtzer added. "Giulio is an ambitious, determined coach who will certainly help propel our program forward. We're happy to have him with us and eager to get him started with the team!"

Off the pitch, Bregu graduated with an associate's degree in business administration from Illinois Central before attaining his bachelor's degree in international business administration from Spring Hill. In addition, he is currently completing his UEFA C license as well as his Commebol "B" license.
