Adair signs six young talents for 2026

DURANGO, Colo. – Fort Lewis College Softball Head Coach Paige Adair is excited to announce the signing of six student-athletes to the Skyhawks softball program for the 2026 campaign.
 
Adair's second class of recruits features one talent from both Colorado and Arizona, in addition to a pair of standouts from Texas and California. This year's class includes four infielders, a pair of utility and outfielders, and a right-handed pitcher.
 
Stella Romeo | 5-7 | Utility | R/R | Castle View High School | Castle Rock, Colorado
A four-year varsity letterwinner for the Sabercats, Romeo was twice named Second-Team All-League and First-Team Academic All-State. Voted the team's Most Valuable Player in 2024, Romeo was twice voted Team Captain and played in 100 games throughout her career. As a senior, Romeo capped her time at Castle View High School with a .472 batting average, bringing her career average to .386 alongside a .446 on-base percentage. In addition, Romeo totaled 113 hits, scored 72 runs, and recorded 63 runs batted in (RBI).
 
Paige Fuller | 5-3 | Outfield/Second Base | R/R | Casteel High School | Queen Creek, Arizona
Fuller was a four-year member of the Colts softball team at Casteel High School, lettering as a utility player on the field. Most recently, Fuller was named Second-Team All-Region in 2024 following an All-Region Honorable Mention nod in 2023. In addition, Fuller was honored with the All-Academic Excellence Award in her sophomore and junior seasons.
 
Kaylee Kinney | 5-1 | Outfield/Utility | L/R | Wakeland High School | Frisco, Texas
Kinney will make her way to Durango following a four-year varsity career as a starter for the Wolverines at Wakeland High School. Through her first three seasons, Kinney boasts a .438 average and .530 on-base percentage with 99 hits, 98 runs scored, and 58 stolen bases. Defensively, Kinney carries a .919 fielding percentage. Kinney's efforts on the diamond have earned her three First-Team All-District and Academic All-District accolades. In addition, Kinney is a Regional Champion and state qualifier in powerlifting.
 
Carmen Alexander | 5-4 | Third Base | R/R | Aubrey High School | Little Elm, Texas
Alexander enjoyed a four-year varsity career for the Chaparrals at Aubrey High School, helping her squad to a third-place finish in the state championships as a sophomore with back-to-back District Championship titles. In her latest full season, Alexander posted a .433 average and an explosive 1.377 on-base-plus-slugging percentage with 42 hits, 12 doubles, four triples, and seven home runs for 37 RBIs. Alexander has twice been named Academic All-District and earned Second-Team All-District honors as the team's best hitter as a junior. In addition, Alexander is a three-time regional qualifier in powerlifting with an appearance at the state championships in 2024.
 
Izzy Cueva | 5-7 | Pitcher/Infield | R/R | Vanden High School | Vacaville, California
Izzy Cueva, the first in a new pair of twins to join the Skyhawks, makes her way to Durango from Vanden High School in Vacaville, Calif., where she was a four-year letterwinner for the Vikings. Izzy Cueva boasts a plethora of skills on the diamond, spending time at first base, third base, and even in the circle as a right-handed pitcher, all of which led to garnering All-League honors.  
 
Mia Cueva | 5-8 | Outfield | R/R | Vanden High School | Vacaville, California
Mia Cueva, the second of the new twins heading to Durango, rounds out the duo as an outfielder from Vanden High School. Also a four-year letterwinner for the Vikings, Mia Cueva took to the outfield and led the roster in batting average as a freshman.
 
The Skyhawks went 10-38 overall in 2025 with a 9-34 mark in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action, leading three Skyhawks to be named to the all-conference teams. Postseason academic awards are slated to be announced in the coming month.
