Lay leads Skyhawks with First Team All-Academic recognition

5/29/2025 1:00:00 PM

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior goalkeeper Caley Lay closed out her Skyhawks career by earning First Team All-Academic honors, headlining a Fort Lewis College group that was recognized by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) on Thursday.

Each institution's athletic communications director nominates student-athletes who academically maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50, along with other criteria, for recognition on the First Team Academic All-RMAC in each sport. The league's athletic communications directors for that sport vote to compose the First Team Academic All-RMAC and select the Academic Player of the Year. They are not permitted to vote for their own student-athletes.

The First Team All-Academic nod is the first of Lay's career after picking up Honor Roll nods as a junior and sophomore. She graduated in May with a degree in Exercise Science and a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.82.

The seven Skyhawks honored are listed below, followed by the 2024-25 Women's Golf All-Academic First-Team.
