Round two wraps up at Victoria Club

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The back nine of the Victoria Club supplied a minor setback on Friday afternoon for Fort Lewis men's golfer Traejan Andrews in the second round of the NCAA West South Central Regional.
 
Despite managing to find another quarter of birdies on holes three, eight, 14, and 17, bringing his tournament total to seven alongside one eagle, and opening the round with a par on the front nine, Andrews ended day two with a two-over-par 74 to bring his overall total to 147 (+3), good to reside in a six-way tie for 87th. Andrews sits five strokes back from the top 50 and eight strokes back from the top 25.
 
St. Mary's No. 43-ranked Baptiste Touchard held on to his top spot on the individual leaderboard, shooting a six-under-par 66 to pair with his first-round and tournament-low 63 (-9) to lead the field by two strokes at 129 (-15) overall. No. 1 ranked Colorado Christian's No. 6 Xavier Bighaus sits in second place at 131 (-13) overall, followed by No. 6 Oklahoma Christian's No. 19 Oskari Nikku and No. 17 Cal State East Bay's Cooper Groshart at 132 (-12).
 
RMAC Champions Colorado Christian extended its lead on the team leaderboard, going 16-under-par in its second trip around the course to reside at 542 (-34), five strokes ahead of second-place Oklahoma Christian (547, -29) and seven strokes ahead of Cal State East Bay (549, -27).
 
Andrews will embark on his third and final round at the Victoria Club tomorrow, Saturday, May 10.
