DURANGO, Colo. – Fort Lewis College juniors Althea Griffith and Hannah Hartwell have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team, the organization announced Wednesday.

With her selection, Hartwell advances to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. The prestigious honors, voted on by CSC members, will be announced on July 15.

To qualify for Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and rank among the top 50 in the region in an individual event or place in the top 50 at the NCAA Regional meet in cross country.

Griffith, an Exercise Physiology major, enjoyed a breakout cross country season that earned her Second Team All-RMAC honors. She capped her campaign with a 50th-place finish at the highly competitive South Central Regional and contributed to the Skyhawks' 20th-place showing at the NCAA Championships.

Hartwell, an Environmental Biology major, emerged as a national contender during a standout junior season. She collected a trio of First Team honors—All-American, All-Region, and All-Conference—in cross country and placed fifth at the NCAA Championships, marking the highest individual finish in program history. Her success continued on the track, where she earned First Team All-American status in the 5,000 meters and Second Team recognition in the 3,000 meters during the indoor season.
