COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released its men's and women's cross country preseason polls, with the Fort Lewis College men's team projected seventh and the women's team slated sixth.
The Skyhawk men earned 124 points to claim seventh in the 15-team field after placing sixth at last year's RMAC Championships in Denver. Colorado School of Mines, the defending national champions, headline the poll with 191 points and 11 first-place votes. Adams State, last year's third-place national finisher, sits second, followed by Western Colorado in third after its top-10 national showing. UCCS (4th), CSU Pueblo (5th), and Colorado Christian (6th) round out the top six, all coming off national top-15 finishes in 2024.
On the women's side, Fort Lewis collected 122 points for sixth in the poll after a fifth-place finish at the 2024 RMAC Championships. Senior Hannah Hartwell, fresh off an All-American campaign, was also named to the Preseason All-RMAC Team. Adams State leads the women's poll with 13 first-place votes and 195 points after capturing last year's national title. Colorado Mines ranks second following a fifth-place national finish, with CSU Pueblo third after placing third nationally. Western Colorado and UCCS share the fourth spot after finishing 12th and 7th, respectively, at nationals. Fort Lewis capped last season ranked 20th in the country.
The Skyhawks will open the 2025 season on Saturday, September 6, at the Joe I. Vigil Invitational in Alamosa.
