Skyhawks hit century mark, secure season-sweep with 101-72 win over Roadrunners

Fort Lewis eclipses 100 points for the first time; move to 12-0 in RMAC play

DURANGO, Colo. – Stewart Erhart scored a game-high 24 points, Massal Diouf put up a career-high 17 points, and Chuol Deng, Jaxon Smith, and Keither Florence poured in 15 points, 11 points, and 10 points, respectively, fueling Fort Lewis men's basketball to a dominant 101-72 route over Metropolitan State University of Denver (7-13, 5-7 RMAC) to secure the season-sweep over the Roadrunners.

Fort Lewis (14-5, 12-0 RMAC) forced an astonishing 33 turnovers out of MSU Denver, resulting in 23 steals for the Skyhawks, the fourth-most in a game in program history, for 43 points off turnovers. Trey Curry and Tate Ziemkiewicz each had a career-high five steals. The Skyhawks turned the ball over just 11 times, their third-fewest of the year. Fort Lewis was a combined 44.3 percent (35-79) from the field, 31 percent (9-29) from the three-point line, and matched the Roadrunners (11-13) at 84.6 percent (22-26) at the free throw line.

MSU Denver otherwise took quality shots, shooting 43.9 percent (25-57) from the floor, led by a 24-point outing from Logan Threatt, who finished one point shy of his career-high. Quave Propst-Allison and Nathan Macadory were the only other two among 12 Roadrunners to hit the floor to reach double figures with 11 points and 10 points, respectively. Propst-Allison led all players with seven assists, Threatt had eight turnovers, and Brian Unachukwu had five blocks.

An even split of 41-41 in rebounds doesn't tell the full story, however, as the Skyhawks had their way in the low-post, scoring 48 points in the paint to MSU Denver's 28. Erhart went 7-of-14 from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 at the free throw line while grabbing three boards and dishing a team-high four assists. Diouf matched his career high with eight rebounds.
