Skyhawks, Yellow Jackets to meet on TC Colorado Field in Fort Collins

4/23/2026 11:00:00 AM

DURANGO, Colo. – Due to potential weather in the forecast, the Fort Lewis Skyhawks softball team (11-35, 10-26 RMAC) will meet the Yellow Jackets (22-25, 19-17 RMAC) of Black Hills State University at TC Colorado Field at the Triple Crown Sports Complex in Fort Collins, Colo., for the two teams' four-game Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series this Friday and Saturday. Friday's first pitch is set for 12 p.m., and Saturday's is at 11 a.m.

Soaring High
Last weekend, Fort Lewis collected its second conference series win of the 2026 campaign, downing Chadron State College (5-40, 5-31 RMAC) in three-straight games before the Eagles escaped in the series finale by a single run. The Skyhawks dominated from the circle, first as Hailie Mann (6-10) set the tone with seven strikeouts and no walks in game one, again as Chloe Padilla (2-15) went off for a career-high 11 strikeouts in game two: the second-most in the RMAC this year. And lastly, as Izzy Cueva (3-4) worked efficiently and relied on her defense. She posted three strikeouts while scattering five hits and two hit-batters without a walk to her name.

Skyler Dietz led all players with six hits in the series, followed by five from Makenna Milliman and four each from Alyssa Fockler and Mia Cueva. Heading into Friday, Izzy Cueva leads all Skyhawks with a pair of 11-game hitting and reached base safely streaks, followed by an eight-game streak from Dietz, and a seven-game streak from Milliman. In addition, seven different Skyhawks carry a streak of having reached base safely in seven or more games.
